Frequently asked questions

About the platform

What is the operational purpose of Family Equb?

Family Equb is a specialized mobile software platform engineered to facilitate the administration of community rotating savings groups. The application digitizes traditional Ethiopian rotating peer-to-peer savings models, introducing automated scheduling, ledger transparency, and structured calculation tracking for group participants.

Does this application provide credit, micro-lending, or loan services?

No. Family Equb is strictly a peer-to-peer community savings utility. The platform does not offer credit facilities, micro-lending options, or advance debt structures. Consequently, the application does not calculate interest rates, enforce borrowing fees, or disclose an Annual Percentage Rate.

Does this application constitute a lottery, game of chance, or gambling platform?

No. The application functions exclusively as a structured community savings ledger. Every participant within an active group contributes an identical, fixed amount during each cycle round. Every participant receives their own accumulated savings back over the course of a complete rotation schedule, ensuring zero financial asymmetry or random distribution of prizes.

Payments & costs

What framework is utilized for secure financial processing?

All transaction executions, including cycle contributions and rotation distributions, are processed directly through a licensed online third-party payment gateway. Financial transfers route securely via integrated gateway channels and established mobile clearing systems. Family Equb does not hold, store, or manage user funds on its internal infrastructure.

What costs are associated with utilizing the platform?

Downloading the application and establishing savings tracking configurations incur no cost. Financial transactions executed through the payment framework are subject to standard third-party Gateway Processing Costs. All gateway processing charges are clearly itemized and disclosed to the user prior to payment authorization.

Groups & contributions

What risk mitigation parameters are established for active savings groups?

Participants must satisfy a standardized trust score rating to qualify for entry into active groups. Upon verification, members contribute a refundable Community Pledge balance at group inception. This safety reserve acts as a mutual guarantee to ensure structural protection for compliant members if a scheduled rotation contribution is missed by a participant.

What are the consequences of an unfulfilled cycle contribution?

Participants who miss a scheduled deadline are classified as Unfulfilled Recipients on the group ledger. Such accounts are subject to automated delayed contribution adjustments and safety reserve reconciliations. If the volume of unfulfilled contributions exceeds a group's safety threshold, the rotation cycle halts automatically, and a member reconciliation process is initiated to return remaining funds to compliant contributors.

Privacy & data

What protocol is established for user data privacy and account deletion?

Family Equb maintains full compliance with digital data privacy mandates. Users retain the right to permanently delete their profiles, transaction histories, and personal records at any time. This data purge can be initiated directly via the functional account deletion interface located within the user profile settings menu.

Platform Onboarding Quick Guides

Group Initiation Guide

To establish a new digital savings group, access the primary control dashboard, select “Initiate Group,” and configure your structural cycle parameters. These include the fixed contribution baseline, cycle rotation frequency, and group visibility preferences. Once deployment parameters are confirmed, an automated invitation code is generated for group assembly.

Verification and Security Compliance

To preserve group integrity, all participants are required to finalize standard identity (KYC) protocols and verify their initial baseline Trust Score inside the profile portal. Completing this step activates full transaction routing permissions across our integrated, licensed payment network.

Member Tracking Ledger

Every group features a transparent, decentralized digital ledger. Participants can securely audit upcoming rotation schedules, view historical cycle compliance logs, and crosscheck verified network processing transactions directly from their mobile application interface in real time.

Secure Infrastructure Framework

Data transport security
All transmission payloads moving between the mobile application endpoints and core data engines utilize high-grade SSL/TLS encryption tokens.
Transaction processing
All transaction requests route exclusively via a licensed payment service provider compliant with national electronic clearing architectures.
